On July 1, 2016, The Hancock County Commission resumed operation of the Hancock County Animal Shelter.

All animals in Hancock County will be treated with compassion and care through the work of dedicated and caring employees and volunteers.

Our goal is to create a more humane community through education thus protecting and enhancing lives of our county animals and nurturing the bond between animals and people.

We envision a community where animals are treated with compassion and respect through current education and support from grants if needed to keep animals with their families.
